Fresno City Councilman Garry Bredefeld wants Fresno County Supervisors and the Fresno County Board of Public Health to explain why the public is just now learning about a secret Covid lab discovered in March in Reedley.

The councilman held a news conference at Fresno City Hall on Monday to present that question and called for immediate full transparency and accountability from both public agencies.

The illegal biological Covid lab was discovered on March 3rd but the news of its discovery is just now going public.

"Millions of people died from Covid which is believed to have arisen from the Wuhan lab in China," Bredefeld said. "Now we discover an illegal lab in Fresno County also experimenting with the Covid-19 virus and illegally dumping medical waste into our landfill. Potentially infectious agents that are both bacterial and viral in nature were found at this lab. Nearly 200 dead mice were found on the property and Court documents indicate they were subjected to experiments with Covid-19."

Critical issues and questions that impact the community must be addressed and answered and will be highlighted at the press conference. Specific solutions to ensure this does not happen again will be immediately addressed.

The councilman called out the county supervisors as well as Dr. Rais Vohra, the interim health officer for the County of Fresno.

Bredefeld says he is speaking out because his constituents in the city of Fresno are asking him to get answers.

Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig also shared his thoughts on the matter, which can be found below:
